Michael L. Tipsord Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer | State Farm, IL

State Farm's Ting fire safety program is expanding to offer more than 2 million smart sensors for free to eligible customers. This initiative is part of State Farm's commitment to promoting safer homes and communities by preventing electrical fires.

Chris Schell, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of State Farm, emphasized the company's dedication to customer safety, stating, "Putting customers first and being a good neighbor is at the heart of the State Farm mission. Ting is part of our ongoing commitment to prevent losses and protect more people in more ways."

The collaboration between State Farm and Whisker Labs has proven successful in preventing electrical fires. Bob Marshall, Co-Founder & CEO of Whisker Labs, expressed gratitude for State Farm's commitment to safety, noting that nearly 10,000 homes have been saved from electrical fire hazards. Marshall added, "Ting sensors help protect individual homes and monitor the electric utility grid that we rely on for life every day. Prevention is simply better for everyone."

Currently, nearly 700,000 homes insured by State Farm have received Ting sensors, with an additional 50,000 sensors being distributed monthly. Homeowners interested in obtaining a free Ting sensor and service can check their eligibility and enroll online.

The Ting program not only detects dangerous arcing, a common precursor to electrical fires, but also provides additional benefits such as power outage notifications, frozen pipe prevention, and more. Furthermore, customers receive a $1,000 credit for professional remediation of electrical fire hazards when necessary, provided by Whisker Labs.

State Farm's expansion of the Ting fire safety program underscores its ongoing efforts to prioritize customer safety and prevent losses in homes across the country.
