Arizona Department of Transportation issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.

Several Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) on- and off-ramps at Seventh and 19th avenues will be closed for approximately two months as part of the project that is widening the freeway in the north Valley, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

The following ramp closures are needed for reconstruction work:

  • Westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Seventh Avenue and off-ramp at 19th Avenue closed from 10 p.m. Friday (Dec. 4) until early February 2021. DETOURS: Drivers should consider entering westbound Loop 101 via Seventh Street or 27th Avenue while the on-ramp at Seventh Avenue is closed. Consider exiting westbound Loop 101 at Seventh Avenue while the off-ramp at 19th Avenue is closed.
  • Eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 19th Avenue and off-ramp at Seventh Avenue are scheduled to be closed from 10 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 13) until mid-February 2021. DETOURS: Drivers should consider entering eastbound Loop 101 via 27th or Seventh avenues while the on-ramp at 19th Avenue is closed. Consider exiting Loop 101 at Seventh Street and detouring on the westbound frontage road while the eastbound off-ramp at Seventh Avenue is closed.
ADOT’s $185 million Pima Freeway Improvement Project is adding new lanes in both directions along Loop 101 between Interstate 17 and Pima Road/Princess Drive.

Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov, by calling 511 and through ADOT’s Twitter feed, @ArizonaDOT.
