GREATER PROVIDENCE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Providence Journal Announces New Advertising Leadership

Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Aug. 6.

The Providence Journal­­­, Rhode Island’s leading news organization, has appointed two new sales executives to lead the organization’s advertising sales division and to help local businesses navigate the increasingly complex media landscape.

Michelle Marquis of Warwick, joins The Journal as Vice President of Sales and Strategy, where she has oversight of The Providence Journal’s team of multi-media sales representatives and overall sales responsibility for print, digital and event sales. Prior to joining The Journal, Marquis held sales and marketing leadership positions with The Norwich Bulletin and The Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

Peter Schofield of Newton MA, comes to the The Journal as Vice President of Digital Sales and Strategy for GateHouse Media New England. In this expanded role, Schofield oversees the growth of The Journal’s innovative digital marketing platforms including targeted display, social media marketing, native content and video production. Prior to joining GateHouse Media New England, Schofield held the role of Senior Director U.S. Channel Sales for GateHouse’s digital marketing agency ThriveHive.

Marquis and Schofield join the Journal’s existing advertising leadership team of Lynn Abrams and Dan Graziano.
