Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Jan. 25.

Rhode Island is ready for Conscious Capitalism!

Conscious Capitalism (consciouscapitalism.org) is a global movement energized by the credo of Higher Purpose, Stakeholder Orientation, Conscious Leadership and Conscious Culture. Let’s bring Conscious Capitalism to Rhode Island.

We invite business leaders to join us for a discussion about tangible ways to act on the four pillars of Conscious Capitalism.

Join a panel of fellow Rhode Island business leaders -- Barbara Thornton, Partner at Brewster Thornton Group architects; James Kwon, Executive Design Chef at Figmints marketing & web design; Michael Woody, CEO at Trans-Tex, author of American Dragon -- along with Larry Yu, Business Writer and founding member of Conscious Capitalism/Boston Chapter and facilitator Dan Doucette of BraveShift group coaching and Charity Shaman nonprofit consulting.

Why Attend?

Learn about the four pillars of Conscious Capitalism and the global movement.

Hear examples from Rhode Island business owners about Conscious Capitalism in action.

Identify at least two concrete opportunities for applying Conscious Capitalism in your own business.

Form new relationships with other mindful business leaders who share a vision for a thriving 21st century Rhode Island business sector, focused on how business can and does impact our global society today.
